This concludes our 3-week sermon series, And When You... Pray, Fast, Give.

Holy Habits with the purpose to motivate authentic devotion to Jesus.

2 quick insights:

Expectation - The issue is not whether you should do them, but how and why we should practice these Holy Habits
Warning - Be motivated by pleasing God, not to please by man.

A warning about your motives. To receive the approval of man or of God. Just like prayer and fasting, how we give is a heart issue.

2 Corinthians 8-9 are two of the largest texts in the bible on giving.

2 Corinthians 8: 7-15

There are four purposes in giving:

Excel in grace of giving (verse 7).
The Greek word “excel" means, “go beyond the expected measure”.
The only way we can excel in anything in life is repetition.
1 Corinthians 16:2
Prove our love genuine (verse 8)
God spoke often about money/possessions
“Jesus Christ said more about money than about another single thing because, when it come to a man’s real nature, money is of first importance. Money is an exact index to a man’s true character. All through Scripture there is an intimate correlation between the development of a man’s character and how he handles his money." - Richard Halverson
God does not need or want money, God wants your heart!
Benefits you (verses 10 & 11)
Giving is a vaccination against greed
2 Corinthians 9:7
Meet the needs of others (verse 15)
Meeting needs of others was central to Jesus’ ministry on earth
At Traverse we to reach more people for Jesus, growth our faith in Jesus, and bless our community for Jesus. And to do all of these things, it takes financial resources. We are needing to add more staff and pay down our building. It is going to take all of us to make this happen.

Registration is Open • Groups meet weekly February through April

Spring Growth Groups are starting soon! These valuable groups are 7-11 week classes that vary by season, are interactive and community-building, and focus on developing spiritual disciplines. They are led by incredible leaders in our church. Please check out the available groups and sign up if there's something you'd like to participate in!

Traverse is assembling a Worship Choir for our Easter Celebration Service! If you are 6th grade and up and have a heart for worship and singing, we'd love to have you! Sign up to join the choir .

Super Bag Meal Packing 🫶

Friday, February 6 at 7:00pm | Saturday, February 7 at 9:00am & 11:00am

“Super Bag” is our annual Super Bowl weekend tradition of serving with Lifeline Christian Mission. As a church family, we turn our lobby into hands-on stations to prepare, weigh, bag, seal, and box meals—helping provide nearly 30,000 meals for children and families facing hunger and malnutrition. Sign up for one of three time slots and join us for a fun, meaningful time of serving together!

Ten years of stories. Ten years of faithfulness. Ten years of showing up.

Join us for a night of celebration at the church with a talent show, appetizers, games, a drone show, and plenty of laughs. This will be one of those “remember when” nights—don’t miss it! Please sign up to participate in the talent show (you do not need to sign up to attend the event).
