A REAL DEAL BELIEVER
The Hebrew word for “believer” is מַאֲמִין (ma’amin). This term refers to someone who has faith, trust, or belief, particularly in a religious Hebrew faith.“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” - Galatians 2:20
As grafted members into the Body of Christ, or מַאֲמִין (ma’amin) in Hebrew, we are called to live a life that reflects the indwelling presence of Yeshua (Jesus) within us. This indwelling is not just a theological concept; it is an eternal transformative reality that shapes our identity, purpose, and daily walk with our Husband, Yeshua. Yes, we are the Bride of Christ IF we have received the Holy Spirit.
1. Identity in Yeshua: Being a
ma’amin means that our identity is rooted in Yeshua. Galatians 2:20 reminds us that we have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us. This simple, but profound truth means that our old self (old nature) has been put to death, and we are now new creations in Him. Our identity is no longer defined by our past, our failures, sins, or our achievements, but by the indwelling life of Yeshua.
2. Purpose in Yeshua: The indwelling presence of Yeshua gives us a clear purpose. As
ma’amin, we are called to be His witnesses, sharing the everlasting news of His love and salvation with the world. This purpose is not limited to touting our words but is demonstrated through our actions, our love for others, and our commitment to living out His teachings from the inside out. We are called to be the light of the world, reflecting His glory in all that we say & do.
3. Empowerment by the Holy Spirit: The indwelling life of Yeshua empowers us through the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8 tells us that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. This power enables us to overcome sin, live righteously, and fulfill the mission that God has given us. The Holy Spirit guides us, comforts us, and equips us to serve others and advance the indwelling LIFE of Christ.
4. Living by Faith: As
ma’amin, we live by faith IN the Son of God. This faith is not passive but active, influencing every aspect of our lives. It means trusting in God’s promises, relying on His indwelling strength, and seeking His will in all things. Our faith is the foundation of our relationship with God and the driving force behind our obedience and devotion to Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the indwelling presence of Yeshua within us. Cause us to embrace our identity as ma’amin and live out our purpose with passion and dedication. Empower us through the Holy Spirit to be Your witnesses and to reflect Your love and grace to the world. Strengthen our faith and guide us in all that we do. In Yeshua’s name, we pray. Amen.Let us all embrace the meaning and purpose of being an indwelt believer, knowing that Christ lives in you and empowers you to fulfill His mission, which should be OUR mission!
