Announcements & Upcoming Events
Visitors: Thank you for joining us today. We hope that you will feel at home and free to join us in worshipping God together!
Sunday Evening: We will not be meeting this evening for fellowship but make plans to join us next week at 5:30 p.m. Take this opportunity to enjoy family time.
Wednesday Service: We hope to see you Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. for Bible Study for all ages.
We have some individuals and groups who have volunteered to participate in a cooking rotation. However, we still have an opportunity for a few more volunteers to join in a rotation preparing meals to be served at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Please let Pastor Chris know if you are interested in serving in this way. Once the rotation is in place we will inform everyone of the start date for meals on Wednesdays.
Helping Hands: There are many in our Englewood community that are in need at this season in their lives.Please consider donating non-perishable foods, toiletries, and paper products. Place your donations in the bin at the back of the sanctuary.
Benevolence Offering: We will receive our benevolence offering today. The offering is to be used to share with individuals in our church and/or community in a time of need.
Tithes & Offerings: We have various ways to provide for receiving tithes and offerings. You may give as the plate is passed during our first worship song, drop your offering in the box at the back of the sanctuary, or give through our church website (with no fees) at crosspointenglewood.com.
Anniversary:Pastor Chris & Tre’s Anniversary is August 31st. Be sure to let them know how much we appreciate them. They both serve our church in numerous ways and give generously of their time.
Attention Ladies: Peggy Ego and Mary Kirby are planning another exciting Bible study, “Thirty Life Principles” by Charles Stanley. They will meet on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays beginning September 19 at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Stay tuned for more information to follow! The books may be purchased online.
Prayer Needs: As we look to God in prayer for the needs of our church and congregation, we are reminded of Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Looking Ahead: In September Pastor Chris will begin sharing from the book of 1 Corinthians. We are looking forward to his sharing “who is who in the zoo” as he leads us through Corinthians and we apply it to our lives today. “Who is who in the zoo” – if you know, you know, if not see Pastor Chris.

Did you see the news? Sarasota County Commissions approved the purchase of the church’s vacant lots located at 51 Magnolia Avenue. Please be in prayer as the Board reviews many areas of need in our church including repairs & mold remediation at the parsonage, replacing A/C unit(s), parking lot repairs, paint, and updating of children’s and youth’s rooms.God is providing a blessing of finances to help meet our needs. We thank Him and look forward to hopefully receiving the funds by year end.
