God worked for six days, speaking the world into being, and on the seventh, He rested. Not because He was tired, but to set a pattern: Work is good. Rest is holy. Scripture teaches us the value of diligence, but God also commands rest, not as a reward for exhaustion, but as a reminder that we are His. Sabbath is not a suggestion; it’s a gift. This Labor Day, may we celebrate our calling to create, build, and serve. And may we also embrace the gift of rest.

Hebrews 12 challenges us to throw off all that hinders us from pursuing Jesus, to run with perseverance, and leave behind the sin which so easily entangles us. So may we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
